Our client at Kamro specialise in education and disability law, with a nationwide presence in the UK. Renowned for their expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Tribunal appeals and related legal areas, they offer a family-friendly work environment. Their team is committed to impactful legal work, providing a supportive and collaborative atmosphere in their offices.

As a Solicitor, you will manage a personal caseload, focusing on education and social care for children with special needs. Under the guidance of their Head of Legal, you will supervise Paralegals and Trainee Solicitors, contributing greatly to their clients’ legal outcomes and enhancing your expertise in this field.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and professional legal services, manage client interactions, and maintain accurate records within the firm's case management software.
  • Offer legal advice across various communication platforms and draft personalised legal documents, ensuring all relevant deadlines are met.
  • Negotiate objectives with clients and other professionals, represent clients in court, and coordinate with opposing parties to secure and implement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to support case accuracy and stay informed of legal developments to maintain professional competence.
  • Supervise documents and delegate tasks to Trainee Solicitors and Paralegals, ensuring high standards and effective team collaboration.
  • Actively contribute to the firm’s digital presence and community outreach, including social media, newsletters, and collaboration with charities, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.

 

Experience

  • You must be a Qualified Solicitor for this position.
  • Experience in Education/public law or an area with transferable skills.
  • Possessing a sharp, analytical mind with great time management and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills, with proven ability to work effectively within a team to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Showing a flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritise under pressure, and a passion for helping clients with SEN in disability law.
