Our client is a leading provider in commercial vehicle servicing who provide high-quality service and maintaining of commercial vehicles with a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. They are seeking an experienced and skilled HGV technician to join Their team.

Job Summary:

The HGV Technician will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they are in optimal working condition. The successful candidate will work closely with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are serviced promptly and safely, maintaining compliance with the company and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on HGVs, including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, engine diagnostics, and other mechanical tasks.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work completed, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with other mechanics and maintenance staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
  • Keep work areas clean and organised
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in HGV technology.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HGV technician/mechanic or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of HGV systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and specialised tools for vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license: CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is preferred but not required.
